Fishing
Many of Des Moines County Conservation's areas have places to fish. Anglers can expect to find fishing opportunities on small ponds, big lakes, and area rivers any time of year. Fishing opportunities can be found at any of these areas:
- Big Hollow Recreation Area – offers several ponds and a 178-acre lake
- 4th Pumping Plant Recreation Park – offers access to a lake and the Mississippi River
- Welter Recreation Area – offers access to the Skunk River
- Luckenbill Woods – offers two ponds
- Sullivan Slough River Access – offers access to the Mississippi River
- Tama Beach River Access - offers access to the Mississippi River
- Edgewater Beach - offers access to the Mississippi River
- Casey Barrow River Access - offers access to the Mississippi River
- Hawkeye Dolbee River Access - offers access to the Mississippi River
