The February meeting of The Burlington Model Aircraft Club was held at the Ted Francis residence.  The meeting was called to order at 4:30 after a nice lunch provided by the Francises.  There were 6 members present.  The minutes of the January meeting were approved as written

Treasurer’s Report:  Ted presented the following report.  Checking account balance as of 2/1/09 = $935.70 and a savings account of $3,159.80 which includes $24.16 in interest income.  Ted also reported that we have 17 paid members.  Those who owe 2009 dues should get them to Ted at 2520 Sunrise Lane, Burlington, 52601.  Dues are still $30.00.

Old Business:  The only old business taken up was a report on this fall’s fun-fly.  Wayne Blume has located the necessary materials for installing the pylons for the pylon race and the limbo event.

New Business:  There was some discussion regarding the airstrip surface with no action indicated.  The clubhouse padlock combination will be changed as of 3/1/09.  Those wishing to have the combination and future newsletters should get their dues paid this month.  A discussion ensued regarding the need for setting aside some training days for prospective fliers but no action was taken at this time.

Next meeting:  The next meeting will be held on March 1st at Polson Field at 4:00 P.M., weather permitting.  Should winter persist, we will meet at my home at 501 Spring St., West Burlington.  More on this later.

Respectfully submitted,

Gary Fell, Secretary
