Position
Description
The person in this
position is a full time employee of the Des Moines County Conservation
Board who performs a wide variety of professional, administrative, and
field duties related to the management of parks, conservation, recreation,
and wildlife areas and natural resource programs at the discretion of the
Board according to Iowa Code 350, Section 4.6.
Qualifications &
Requirements
¨
The person in this position should have a bachelor’s degree
from an accredited college or university, preferably with major course
work in natural resources, outdoor recreation, public administration, or a
related natural science field.
¨
Two years of hands-on experience in natural resource
management and/or program administration; or a combination of education
and experience (5-years minimum) that shows a good general understanding
of systems, methods, or closely related subjects applicable to natural
resource and administrative practices required in Board operations.
Computer literate
¨
Ability to prepare, discuss, justify, and work within a
budget.
¨
Experience in public speaking is required.
¨
A valid Iowa driver’s license is required and insurable
under Des Moines County’s insurance program.
Salary and
Benefits
¨
Negotiable, depending upon experience and qualifications,
Starting salary range: $45,000 - $50,000 per year.
¨
Full, standard county benefits package.
¨
Clothing allowance, access to an official vehicle, vacation
leave, sick leave and paid holidays.
¨
FLSA status: Exempt
